A 17-year-old girl who was attacked in her home died from multiple stab wounds, an inquest has heard.

Lainie Williams suffered multiple knife injuries in an incident on November 13.

She could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene in Wheatley Place, Cefn Fforest, Gwent, Wales.

Lainie's mum Rhian Stephens, 38, was also hurt and needed hospital treatment but survived.

Opening a brief hearing, area coroner for Gwent Rose Farmer, said: "On November 13, Rhian Stephens, Lainie’s mother, called 999 reporting that her daughter was being stabbed.

"Emergency services arrived at the scene and she was pronounced life extinct at the scene by paramedics.
