TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A former assisted living facility employee has been convicted of using a blind, elderly woman’s debit card to buy thousands of dollars worth of items for herself over the course of nearly a year, court filings show.

Tiesha Hunt, 46, of Toledo, pleaded no contest in court on Dec. 2, court records show. Police said she stole from an 81-year-old woman who is legally blind.

She pleaded no contest to a theft charge, which was amended from a theft by deception charge. Judge Khoury sentenced Hunt to serve 180 days at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio with 150 days suspended and 30 days of electronic monitoring. Hunt was also placed on active probation for a year.
