A man on trial for the murder of a Bradford mother and her three children abruptly halted his testimony on Tuesday, telling the court "I can't do this".

Calum Sunderland, 26, was in the midst of giving evidence at Doncaster Crown Court where he, along with Sharaz Ali, 40, is accused of murdering Bryonie Gawith and her three children Denisty, Oscar and Aubree Birtle, as well as the attempted murder of Antonia Gawith. Another defendant, Mohammed Shabir, who has since passed away in custody, was also set to stand trial.

The court had previously been told that the young family perished in a house fire at 26 Westbury Drive, Bradford, on 21 August last year. Bryonie was declared dead at the scene, while her children Denisty, nine, Oscar, five, and Aubree, aged 22 months, were ru
