COLUMBIA, S.C. — State health officials are reporting 14 new measles cases connected to the ongoing Upstate outbreak, bringing South Carolina’s total outbreak-related case count to 76 and the total number reported to the Department of Public Health (DPH) this year to 79.

DPH says eight of the newly confirmed cases are linked to previously reported exposures at the Way of Truth Church in Inman and three of the new cases were exposed in a school setting. The other three are still under investigation.

There are currently 134 individuals in quarantine and one in isolation. Based on the latest cases, health officials have identified new public exposures at four schools: Hendrix Elementary (40 students quarantined), Marby Middle School (13), Chapman High School (5), and Tyger River Elementary
