A star-studded Cold War drama is heading to our screens in a new adaptation of the novels penned by master of espionage John le Carré.
Titled Legacy of Spies, the six-episode series draws from the author's 1963 best-selling book The Spy Who Came in from the Cold and 2017's A Legacy of Spies , which serves as a prequel to The Spy .
Airing on the BBC in the UK and MGM+ in the US, Legacy of Spies follows le Carré's protagonist, The Circus spymaster George Smiley, played by Succession 's Matthew Macfadyen, and British intelligence agent Alec Leamas ( The Gentlemen 's Charlie Hunnam).
Marvel star Daniel Brühl plays East German spy Jens Fielder, while Devrim Lingnau Islamoğlu, seen in The Empress , portrays Doris Quinz (aka Agent Tulip).
