JACKSON COUNTY, MI – An event to honor the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks is coming up in Jackson County.
The Jackson County Veterans Council is hosting its 4 th annual Pearl Harbor Day ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 at The USS Arizona Memorial exhibit, located at Cascades Falls Park on High Street.
The guest speaker for this year’s event is U.S. Navy Commander John Wake, who currently serves as the executive officer of the Navy Talent Acquisition Group-Heartland. Parking is available courtesy of the Cascades Baptist Church.
The event takes place 84 years after the attacks, honoring the more than 2,300 soldiers who died Dec. 7, 1941, in Hawaii. The Michigan Memorial to the USS Arizona includes the names of the 28 Michiganders serving as sailors and Marines who died on the
