Women who have been impacted by failings in the scandal-hit Durham and Darlington Breast Cancer Service have been urged to come forward for free legal advice.

An investigation was launched into the service, which is run from the University Hospital of North Durham and Darlington Memorial Hospital, earlier this year, following concerns over the care being delivered for at least the past decade.

Last week, an independent report laid bare the “systemic failings” within the service, operated by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, and highlighted that red flags and warnings were ignored.
