GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — A 13-year-old boy has been released from the hospital after being struck by a car while riding an e-motorcycle in Gilbert.
The crash near Val Vista and Guadalupe roads sparked renewed concerns about e-bike safety, with Gilbert police reminding parents that children on electric bikes must follow all traffic laws.
The city does not impose age restrictions, meaning kids of any age can ride e-bikes—some capable of reaching speeds up to 28 mph.
Similar crashes have been reported across the Valley, including this recent incident in Gilbert.
