Fourteen more people in Spartanburg County have become infected with measles, according to a Dec. 2 report by the South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH).
The new infections brings the total number of cases in the ongoing outbreak to 76.
DPH investigators say eight of the infections were traced to an exposure at the Way of Truth Church in Inman. Two of the infections are from unknown sources.
Officials also suspect there were exposures at several schools ― Hendrix Elementary, Mabry Middle, Chapman High, and Tyger River Elementary ― leading to the quarantining of 75 students.
