Incredible scenes show eager US military dogs being trained at a British base for the first time.

The canines are seen conducting water confidence training in a pool at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk this month.

The US Air Force said: "This was the first time this type of training has been conducted at RAF Mildenhall and the tri-base area, and the goal is to build confidence in the working dogs, so they are able to conduct operational tasks while in the water.

"The training tests the military working dog's (MWD)’ confidence in being placed in an unknown environment and demonstrates that they can overcome stress while still meeting operational standards."
