ALBANY, Ore. - An Albany woman has been accused of embezzling more than 250-thousand dollars from a Linn County business owner who employed her for more than 10 years.
Fifty-nine-year-old Jodi Faye Kenagy was charged Monday in Linn County Circuit Court with nine counts of first-degree aggravated theft.
The charging document says the thefts were allegedly committed between September 2021 and August of this year. Albany police say they believe the thefts went on even longer, throughout the duration of her employment.
Police say Kenagy worked as the bookkeeper for Michael Dean McHenry, the owner of Safe-Lock Self Storage, McHenry Remodeling and Emroe Properties.
