Our first winter storm of the season is bringing snow, rain and a wintry mix, all dependent on location. First things first, the highest coverage of all snow is behind us as temperatures rise near the coast. The rain snow line will be wobbling near and just west of the 495 corridors through the afternoon.

North and west of 495 will see two heavy bursts of snow , the first already underway for early afternoon banding from Worcester to Concord. Some snow rates will be 1 inch per hour and higher. Then a lull in the intensity, with rates generally less than .5 inches per hour until around 6 p.m., when temperatures start to dip and intensity increases.
