For many of us, Christmas dining conjures up images of turkey and trimmings, figgy pudding, and perhaps a cheeky glass of Baileys or two. If you'd rather save all that indulgence for the big day, it's worth exploring a few festive alternatives across Newcastle's restaurants.
One of those offering a Christmas menu with a twist is Dakwala on Grainger Street. Said to be a "culinary love letter from Bombay", it serves up fare inspired by Mumbai's street food - though you'd struggle to find some of the most recent menu additions in the Maharashtra capital's back alleys.
