A hunter had to be rescued from a remote, snowy and steep section of Juniata County after he was shot Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission said a 26-year-old hunter suffered a gunshot wound to the hip one or two miles off Vincent Tram Road in Milford Township.
Vincent Tram Road runs through a mountainous section of the township bordering Tuscarora State Forest land. The forest covers more than 96,000 acres and runs through six counties.
The Game Commission was notified of the shooting at 8:49 a.m. Tuesday. The hunter has since been rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment via ambulance. His condition has not been released.
The circumstances of the shooting are also unknown.
