RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - This weekend, the 2025 Candy Cane Lane kicks off in Carson City as neighbors in the Indian Hills community of Douglas County come together to support local mental health and our regional animal shelters.

Danielle Meares, youth crisis services director with NAMI Western Nevada and Candy Cane Lane coordinator and Waffles the Wonder Pup, all stopped by Morning Break to share how Candy Cane Lane has become a beloved neighborhood tradition.

Close to 40 families have decorated their homes to entertain and dazzle hundreds of visitors throughout December. This event also brings awareness to mental health and community connection during the holidays and collects donations to support local animal shelters in Lyon, Carson, Storey, and Douglas counties.
