Two global mining giants are evaluating a joint venture in Sudbury, Ont., that could lead to a US$2-billion copper project that would extract the critical mineral over more than two decades.
Vale Base Metals Ltd., the Canadian unit of Brazilian conglomerate Vale SA, said on Tuesday that it and Switzerland’s Glencore PLC agreed to a framework to evaluate the potential of extracting the metal from their adjacent properties in the region.
