A Las Vegas man is facing a murder charge in the killing of his girlfriend, Metro Police said today in a news release.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Arville Street around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the parking lot. The victim was pronounced dead.
Detectives determined Richard Watson, 41, had shot his girlfriend before fleeing the area, police said. Investigators later located Watson and took him into custody.
Watson was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will announce the victim’s identity.
