A plane which took off from Brit holiday hotspot Gran Canaria was forced into an emergency landing after a passenger died on board. The plane - with nearly 200 passengers on board - was en route from the Spanish island to Hamburg, Germany, when an elderly man suffered a heart attack on Sunday afternoon, November 30.
Members of the crew on the Eurowings flight and other passengers intervened, while the pilot diverted the plane to Bilbao Airport in northern Spain. Emergency services rushed onto the aircraft once they had landed, but their efforts to resuscitate the victim - a German pensioner who was travelling with his daughter - were tragically in vain.
