FARGO — Fargo Fire Department officials say the cause of an Oct. 30 apartment building fire has still not been determined, but the cost of repairing the damage is estimated to be upwards of half a million dollars.

Fargo fire crews were called to the fire at 1521 27th Ave. S. just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 30. Fire crews arrived to find fire in a second-floor unit, with the blaze spreading on the outside of the building up to the third floor and into the attic. The 24-unit apartment building was evacuated, and one person was rescued from the third floor. While no people were injured, one cat in a second-floor apartment died, Fargo fire officials said.
