ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — A 76-year-old man was found dead inside his Pine Street home in Andover Township, and investigators say the residence was burglarized after his death, according to the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies discovered the man on Nov. 30 after responding to a call about a deceased individual inside the home. The Ashtabula County Coroner’s Office determined the homeowner had been dead for an extended period of time. An autopsy has been ordered, but authorities said foul play is not suspected in connection with his death.

During the initial investigation, deputies learned the home had likely been broken into after the man died. Detectives later determined the homeowner had already passed away before the burglary occurred. According to the sheriff’s office,
