The North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce is stepping in with others as part of an effort to help save the Innovation Hub, a "makerspace" in Argenta that faces an uncertain future after the North Little Rock Library System voted Monday not to renew the hub's lease.
The chamber said in a release Tuesday it is working with local leaders to ensure the continued operation and future growth of the Innovation Hub. According to the release, an advisory committee consisting of leaders from different sectors of the economy are committed to "sustaining and growing the Hub's mission" and working to ensure it remains open.
The hub provides classes, tools, machinery and community for people who make things. It has been around since 2014, and for many in Central Arkansas it is critical to their hobbie
