The winner of the first-ever RGJ Burger Bracket is Whispering Vine's Gourmet Angus Burger, a burger topped with mushroom brie, bacon jam and arugula.

The Gourmet Angus Burger picked up 19,610 votes, or 51.7% of the total, to claim victory — barely nudging out Archie's World Famous Wolfpack Burger at 18,357 votes.

It’s been nearly two months since we asked readers to submit their favorite burgers to join the bracket. Overall, more than 160,000 votes were cast over the past six weeks as we narrowed the field from 64 burgers in Northern Nevada and northeastern California.

In early October, we asked RGJ readers which burgers should be nominated. In all, 761 of you nominated 108 unique burgers from 85 local burger-slingers.
