SPRINGFIELD, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Department of Corrections announced that a state prison offender passed away on Monday.

Michael Sedlmeier has passed away, age 60, passed away at a hospital on December 1, 2025.

He was serving sentences for first-degree manslaughter and DWI, 3 rd offense, from Davison County at the Mike Durfee State Prison at the time of his death.
