Fans of one of the most beloved holiday movies of all time are now warning parents about watching it with their kids today.
“Home Alone,” starring Macaulay Culkin , has remained popular since it was released in 1990. The film follows 8-year-old Kevin McCallister protecting his house from burglars after being mistakenly left by his family on a Christmas trip.
The movie was one of the top 10 grossing movies of both ‘90 and ‘91 with more than $285 million at the box office (or $688 million adjusted for inflation). Most of the cast, including Joe Pesci and Daniel Starn as the “Wet Bandits” Harry and Marv, returned for the 1992 sequel, “ Home Alone 2: Lost in New York .” Four other sequels were made without Culkin, most recently 2021’s “Home Sweet Home Alone.”
