SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The South Bend Medical Foundation is asking for urgent blood donations, with a particular need for O-negative blood.

Blood donations typically decline during the holiday season due to busy schedules and travel-related emergencies, according to the foundation.

While all blood types are welcome, O-negative blood is especially important because it is the universal blood type.
