Police in Canada seized almost 400 kilograms of fentanyl and large amounts of other illicit drugs during a five-month campaign that resulted in 8,136 arrests and charges.

Ontario led the country with 263 kilograms of fentanyl seized, while B.C. was second with 88 kilograms intercepted during the campaign.

More than half of all the methamphetamine seized during the project came from B.C. — 879 of 1,708 kilograms.

Called National Fentanyl Sprint 2.0, the seizures were co-ordinated by the Canadian Integrated Response to Organized Crime, an alliance of police and other government agencies.
