MONTICELLO – The Monticello Village Board is going to tighten up three public safety and quality of life issues.
The board is expected to adopt a local law closing night clubs that hold state liquor licenses at 2 a.m. for pubic safety and to establish fines for violators. That measure is designed to prevent rowdiness and unruly behavior by patrons. Fines would be levied on violators.
The local lawmakers will also adopt a law requiring building owners to install guardrails on all second-and third-floor windows in multi-dwelling for occupant safety. Mayor Rochelle Massey has expressed concern about people, in particular young children, hanging out of unprotected upper floor apartment windows.
