With six weeks to go until she takes the helm at City Hall, Mayor-elect Helena Moreno announced her picks Tuesday for chief administrative officer, city attorney, chief of staff and other deputy mayors in her incoming administration.

As expected , Moreno selected outgoing Councilmember Joe Giarrusso, the two-term District A council representative and budget committee chairperson, to serve as her top deputy and chief administrative officer.

For city attorney, Moreno said she will appoint Charline Gipson, who is currently of counsel at Baker Donelson. The position serves as the city's chief legal officer and is subject to City Council confirmation. Under a charter amendment approved by voters in November, the city attorney will also have greater independence from the mayor.
