CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Interim Mayor Tony Cuda duly noted the complaints of residents who were less than thankful for the city’s snow removal efforts over the holiday weekend, namely on side streets.

“I certainly understand where they’re coming from,” Cuda said at the outset of Monday’s (Dec. 1) City Council meeting.

He had met earlier that day with directors of the Public Works and Public Properties departments to brainstorm -- with another storm on the way overnight.

“The first snowfall always seems to be a re-learning process and I think we’re getting somewhere,” Cuda said.

Reinforcements are coming as the city expands its fleet of trucks from nine to 11.

But their arrival remains a couple months away.
