The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 12:46 p.m. on Tuesday in effect until 7 p.m. for Cayuga, Oswego and Lewis counties.

The weather service states to expect, "Additional snow accumulation around an inch, with up to 2 inches across the southern Tug Hill Plateau."

"Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions on untreated roads. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday evening commute," adds the weather service. "Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving."
