Two people, a male and a female, have been arrested following an attempted robbery at a cigar store in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.

Two individuals went into the Cigar Chief location on Airport Road armed with a bat, where they attempted to steal a number of items.
An assault occurred, but the suspect was controlled by employees until police arrived.
The suspects were arrested and held pending a bail hearing.
Police said updates including names of the accused and charges will follow at a later date.
There is no threat to community safety at this time.
