As the editor-in-chief of Country Living , I’ll admit I have a soft spot for the ’80s country aesthetic. This magazine launched in 1978, which means the brand came into its own during the era of puffed sleeves and smart-mouthed television aliens. As did I.
I love combing through the Country Living archives to see what interiors still feel timeless, which collectibles were most coveted, and what recipes were in the rotation. (We had a serious congealed salad moment.) I even love the look of the old advertisements for everything from cigarettes (sorry ’bout that) to wood-paneled station wagons.
