Work is progressing on Bishop Auckland's new cinema, as its 2026 opening date draws ever closer.

The cinema, which will be the latest addition to Bishop Auckland Retail Park, will join the likes of Home Bargains and Game On, which opened in October .

Pictures show the outside of the building looks to be completed. The pavement has been laid, and parking spaces are in place.

Once completed, the cinema, which will be operated by independent chain Reel Cinemas, will have seven screens. It will also have a private-hire screen and a purpose-built party room.

Reel Cinemas, which was founded in 2001 and has 15 cinemas, has previously described the Bishop Auckland site as
