Several news outlets, including Politico, CNN and the Washington Post, reported on December 2 that Food and Drug Administration lead drug regulator Richard Pazdur will resign, despite being only weeks into his job.

Pazdur was the founding director of the Oncology Center of Excellence and served with the FDA for 26 years.

Marty Markary, the Commissioner of the FDA, announced Pazdur had taken the job on November 13, 2025.

Pazdur's resignation was first reported by STAT News , which also said Pazdur has 30 days to reverse his decision.
