COOKE COUNTY, Texas — A bison shot and killed at a property in Cooke County last week has prompted a reward for information leading to an arrest in the case, officials said.

The Cooke County Sheriff's Office said a bison was killed at a property near County Road 301 and FM 3108 south of Lindsay between Nov. 23 and Nov. 26.

Deputies also said the animal's head was removed, and the remaining carcass was left behind.

The Cooke County Sheriff's Office said there's a $3,000 reward leading to an arrest in the case, and they're asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 940-665-3471.
