President Donald Trump announced Tuesday during a cabinet meeting that the National Guard will be going to New Orleans in a couple of weeks after Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry asked for assistance. The deployment will stay in New Orleans through Mardi Gras on Feb. 17.
