SHAFTSBURY – Town Administrator Paula Iken has drafted a letter asking Gov. Phil Scott for increased attention and support for town residents whose wells have been contaminated by “forever chemicals.”

Iken read a version of the letter at Monday’s Select Board meeting. She had met with residents affected by PFAS contamination in September. They had requested she write a letter to the governor on behalf of the Select Board and the residents, she said.

The letter, which will be signed by Board members at their meeting next Monday, is titled “Request for Mitigation of and Compensation for PFAS Levels in Residents’ Wells.”
