If the weekend snow in Fort Collins felt rather pathetic to you, the latest forecast brings hope for something a bit more satisfying overnight into Dec. 3.

The National Weather Service forecast says Fort Collins could get 2 to 4 inches starting late Dec. 2 and lasting into the morning of Dec. 3.

Understandably, it's a believe-it-when-you-see-it situation for many, but even if Fort Collins misses out on larger totals, there will still be travel impacts in the region.

Timing of the storm

Snow is expected to begin in the late evening Dec. 2, around midnight, according to the weather service, with a 90% chance of it. It's forecast to continue into the morning of Dec. 3 (80% chance) and be done by 11 a.m.

That means the snowfall will affect the morning commute.
