The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) concluded the 2025 Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Period. This travel period began on November 26 at 5:00 p.m. and ended on Sunday, November 30th at midnight.
MHP issued a total of 6,492 citations, made 85 arrests for impaired driving, and cited 577 motorists for occupant restraint violations. MHP also investigated 243 crashes resulting in 43 injuries, with two fatal crashes. Two people died in those wrecks.
The two deadly crashes happened in Walthall and Lincoln Counties.
