COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) — The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office says a man has been arrested for possessing child sexual abuse material.

Jaylen Patrick Thomas, 24, of Ladson, is charged with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office arrested Thomas on Nov. 21 after they received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They said Thomas allegedly distributed files of child sexual abuse material. Investigators with the Generals’ Office and a member also assisted with the investigation.

He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
