SAN FRANCISCO — The distribution of illegal disinfectants in Arizona has led to a settlement between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Chedraui USA, Inc.
In a release sent Tuesday, the EPA announced the settlement with the company that also does business as El Super and Smart & Final Stores LLC. The EPA said Chedraui violated federal pesticide law by distributing illegal disinfectants in its stores in Arizona, California, and Nevada.
According to the release, Chedraui is expected to pay a penalty of $472,369. All illegal disinfectants were also removed from the stores as part of the settlement.
