A killer driver who mowed down a grandmother-of-five before fleeing the scene and dialling 999 has walked free from court.
Hit-and-run driver Jane Hill crashed her car into matriarch Jean Bentley as the victim walked home.
But the 57-year-old failed to stop and instead drove away from the scene before reporting the collision to emergency services.
Air ambulance crew were scrambled and took Jean to hospital but the 85-year-old could not be saved and died the next day.

The collision took place in Bridgwater, Somerset, at about 5pm on September 23, 2022.
