Longtime NBA veteran Danilo Gallinari has retired from the league after 16 seasons, he announced Tuesday.

Gallinari, 37, announced his retirement in an Instagram post . The 6-foot-10 forward from Italy played for nine teams during his NBA career, most recently for the Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards during the 2023-24 season.

“Today, with a heart full of gratitude, I am announcing my retirement from a career I’ve always dreamed of,” Gallinari said in his post. “A career built through hard work, sacrifice, victories, defeats, teammates who became brothers, guidance from my coaches, and, of course, family and friends that were with me every step of the way.
