Danilo Gallinari donned eight jerseys during his 14-year NBA career, and it was almost nine.

Gallinari spent the 2022-23 campaign with the Boston Celtics, but never played a game as he rehabbed from a torn ACL he suffered during international play. He was surprised to be traded one year after he signed with the Celtics when Boston acquired Kristaps Porzingis from Washington.

Well, Gallinari on Tuesday announced his retirement from basketball — he hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2023-24 campaign when he suited up for the Wizards, Pistons and Bucks.

The Celtics posted to social media following Gallinari’s retirement announcement.

“Congrats Gallo on a great career and best of luck in your retirement,” the team account wrote.
