WILLIAMSBURG — A former mayor and school board member who has spent her retirement involved in the community has been named the recipient of this year’s Williamsburg Mace Bearer’s Award.
Jeanne Zeidler, who was the city’s first female mayor, will be honored with the award during a reception on Dec. 11 at the Stryker Center. The One Williamsburg Holiday Reception is free and open to everyone to attend. It beings at 5:30 p.m.
Zeidler began her community involvement as a member of her son’s PTA , later joining the school board and then being elected to Williamsburg City Council, where she served for more than 15 years . She has continued to work in the community on various boards.
