A University of Delaware student has been arrested on weapons charges after patrol officers stopped him with a loaded firearm and discovered plans to attack campus police, authorities said.
Luqmaan Khan, 25, of Wilmington , was driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in Canby Park West shortly before midnight on Nov. 24 when officers initiated a traffic stop, the New Castle County Police said Tuesday in a press release.
Khan was ordered to step out of the vehicle but refused to do so, police said. After resisting arrest, he was taken into custody by the officers.
A search of Khan’s vehicle uncovered a loaded Glock .357 handgun, a device to convert the weapon into a fully automatic firearm, four loaded 27-round extended magazines, ballistic body armor, binoculars, a laptop and a composit
