GRAND FORKS — Some progress on two agriculture-related projects is being made by their parent companies — albeit slowly.
Northern Plains Nitrogen has been planning a fertilizer plant in the area for over 10 years, while Epitome Energy has had interest in building a soybean crushing plant in Grand Forks since 2022. For some residents, the lack of visible progress has them concerned about the future of both projects.
But City Administrator Todd Feland said NPN and Epitome Energy are still working on moving their projects forward.
“We know the projects are challenging, but we know they’re here because Grand Forks, and our region, is a great place for agribusiness,” he said. “They also know that the city of Grand Forks is going to do what we can to help support them and facilitate their suc
