WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - After the consumer rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s Giving Tuesday, a day when people are encouraged to give back.
Dawn Cole with the United Way of Northern New York says the day is about celebrating generosity and the local organizations that work to meet community needs.
Examples of ways to give include donating to a food pantry, giving a pair of socks to a senior, or donating some of your time.
“Time can be a very meaningful donation to a nonprofit. If you’re not sure of what you might like to do in terms of sharing your time, reach out to the United Way and we’ll find a nonprofit that matches your passion and get you set up into a volunteer role,” said Cole.
Cole says give where your heart is, and give local.
