Newly-hired LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. will lead the Ole Miss offense during the College Football Playoff, Ole Miss announced Tuesday when revealing new head coach Pete Golding's staff for the CFP.

Weis has already signed on as Lane Kiffin's offensive coordinator, and will start with an annual salary of $1.9 million under a three-year contract. The deal makes him one of the 10 highest-paid assistants in the country.

Kiffin wanted to continue to coach his former Ole Miss team through the CFP, but Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter decided it was best to move on and elevate Golding from defensive coordinator to head coach.
