TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Amazon has pulled out of the embattled Project Blue, according to city and county leaders, but another large company may take it over.
Pima County Supervisor Matt Heinz and Tucson City Councilman Paul Cunningham confirmed the development with 13 News’ Renee Romo on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Heinz said, “(it is) my understanding from multiple sources that Amazon will no longer be the end user.”
“I’ve stated multiple times that Beale has credibility issues,” Cunningham said. “Now, it’s no longer Amazon. Magically, it’s now possibly Meta. We may end up with a data center in Pima County someday. But it shouldn’t be through a company like Beale.”
